In 17 BCW the United Systems of Revia was torn between venturing out of the star cluster and staying within. Traditionalists argued that the nation was doing fine as it was, and that going outside of the cluster was an uneeded risk that could destroy them all. And Expansionists argued that it was necessary if the Federation wanted to stay prosperous and that staying where they are would only stagnate them. In the end, the Expansionists broke away and declared war on the Federation. The first skirmishes would be fought in the Hoeddim system. As the Traditionalist forces tried to break through the Expansionist forces, the Expansionists were constructing several new fleets at rapid speed. Five months after the war began the Expansionists mustered up their forces and punched the Traditionalists all the way to Pollux, one system away from Revia. There, possibly the most important battle of the entire war commenced. Both sides brought their mightiest fleets to the system. The battle itself lasted 5 days straight, only ending when the Traditionalists brought in the direlect dreadnought that had been sitting in the capital for many years. The Expansionist forces retreated and the Traditionalist Fleets pushed them back to the colony of Millistamu. There, the Traditionalists laid seige to the colony. When the armies arrived, some of the bloodiest fightings occurred, with hundreds of thousands dead. But this hard-fought victory wouldn't last. The Expansionists would send a force just big enough to be considered a threat into the system, and while the Traditionalist forces had their back turned, the real force would attack them from the rear. The Traditionalist Fleet wouldn't last an hour, and the Traditionalists would be pushed back to Hyrma. With the capital taken and their navy broke, the Traditionalists considered surrender. But when the current head of the armed forces flipped a table, they shelved the idea. The Traditionalists gathered their forces at Hyrma and prepared for a last stand. The Traditionalist Fleets consisted of 27 Corvettes, 15 Frigates, 19 Destroyers, 24 Cruisers, and the Quasar Class Dreadnought. The Expansionists outnumbered them 4 to 1, but through resolve and tactical superiority, the Traditionalists repelled the attack. With both nations badly beaten, they agreed to end the bloodshed an reunify Trapezium. At the end of the civil war, 6 billion would be dead, 1/4 of the population. Going forward the warp gate would be built, but the newly formed Revian Federation would take measures to protect against outside influence on their culture and soveriegnty.
