By the time the Imperium tried to conceal it's identity and the GBE was conducting its scans of the ominous intruder into the old Imperial territories about a day had passed since the curious transmitter was found.
Things seemed to be already quite tense between the two groups and it would remain to be seen whether the meeting would escalate or end in a peaceful parting of ways.
However, as things usually go, this outcome seemed to be not entirely in their own hands.
Raederi Valferis checked the sensor data and transmission once more, as well as the briefing he had received from the envoy of the Regent. Someone, or something had triggered the sensor traps they placed in the old High Imperium territory.
Whilst it admittedly was usually just some pirates, scavangers or raiders, the trip out here was a welcome opportunity to get out of his families palace and especially away from his father.
He shook his head.
"All systems in order?"
The ship AI popped up on the holo-projector to his side, the bridge personnel stayed silent, focused on their own work.
All systems nominal.
He nodded.
"Anything of note?"
No anomalies detected, estimated arrival time five minutes.
He nodded again, if they were lucky it would stay this way and it was really just some scavengers.
Halfway into the Gelos Mal system the Interaction between the two factions was suddenly interrupted by a number of hyperspace echoes only momentarily preceeding the entrance of a large, elegant looking cruiser in purple and golden colours, escorted by four ships which were likely frigates.
They proceeded to do a sweeping scan of the system, detecting both groups.
There was a brief moment of radio silence before the ships sent an automated hail to both groups but otherwise remained silent.
"Fuck."
Raederi, looked at the received data, the bridge crew was on high alert, the intruder which had triggered the sensor trap seemed to be in fact the Imperium itself, that is if his history knowledge was correct, and at the other side there was the Galactic British Empire...
He sighed.
He had sent a brief report back to one of the proxies immediately though receiving an answer on how to proceed may take a moment.
It would be best to resolve this without conflict.
Luckily, the envoy left him some room to move in regards to how to react to situations like this...
