A humanoid figure is found lying lifelessly on a chair in the middle of a blank white room, its head encased in some sort of device but strands of orange hair still flow out regardless. While its body is as blank and untainted as the room itself, the slightly elevated chest cavity and the broadened hip provide the secondary sexual characteristics of a biologically female. Above the whole assembly, three spherical objects of unknown material spin uniformly like a shattered halo.
Soon enough, the finger of the figure twitched, and as if life has been breathed into a doll, fingers and toes begin to move, soon followed by movement of entire limbs, most likely to explore the surroundings without causing too much of a commotion. Failing to detect any sort of barrier around, the figure shifts its attention on checking its own status, and immediately curls into a ball after discovering the absolute lack of clothing.
"Good morning, doctor, got a good night's sleep I see."
Followed by the unknown, rather bland voice, a sheet of soft textile cover the figure's body, and the headpiece is taken off, revealing a pair of orange eyes. Meanwhile, Mainframe is standing at the end of the chair, with a set of clothing stacked on her hands
"Um..."
"sigh....suit up first, I will answer questions later."
And the Mainframe simply disappears, leaving the stack of bodywear without any support. However, just as the figure thinks about catching the assorted clothing before it hit the floor, a sphere swoop down from above and perfectly supports the entire pile, even situates just within arm's reach.
After finishing the third cup of tea and filling the fourth cup, the door finally opens up, and the figure showing up in a uniform of sorts. Noticing the empty seat on the other side of the tea table, the eyebrows of the figure slightly lower.
"Is that...for me?"
"Mhm, do take a seat."
The figure sits down, then pours herself a cup of tea. Mainframe, seeing the gesture, pushes the box of honey slightly towards her.
"Before anything, do you remember your name?"
"My name is Yuki, but what do you mean by calling me doctor?"
"Well......that's more of something you gained after a particular event, at least in the original world that you live in..."
"Huh?"
Yuki stops sipping from her cup, and slowly puts it down, probably in fear of tipping over with the trembling hands. After closing her eyes for a brief moment, she looks back at Mainframe directly, trying to see if there is any trace of lies.
"Are we not in Terra?"
Mainframe, being the automatic programme that it is, won't expose such simple mistakes. Not to mention, Mainframe wasn't planning on telling any lies......
"That is correct, we are currently in a planet called Xaneroth, if it can still be considered as a proper planet that is."
"..."
Another moment of silence, a necessary period to indulge the actual reality.
"What...happen to Terra?"
"Nothing... and also everything"
"...What do you mean by that?"
"Here"
A stapled stack of paper is tossed over the paper, immediately intercepted by a sphere and loss the inertia, dropping right in front of Yuki. As she hastily read through the pages, she finds that she didn't remember any of the recorded events, but all the subjects involved are similar to people who she knows and share the exact same name.
"Is this..."
"A script? Nah, not quite, this is merely a brief record of what happens after."
"After what?"
"After everything you did in Terra, of course."
"......"
"Do you regret your actions of sacrificing yourself for a seemingly "greater good"?"
Yuki, having her hands settled on the table after putting down the cup, turns her left hand and looks at her palm, before grasping and forming a fist.
"No..."
With the other hand, Yuki throws the stack of papers back at Mainframe, who catches it effortlessly.
"Even if what I did is proven to be wrong in the future, I would still fight for what I think is right."
"Hmm...well perhaps i should do some self-introduction then..."
[Insert Mainframe's self-introduction]
"So...would you like to join us?"
"...you know, waking up in a blank room naked and having tea with an unknown being who seemingly know everything about yourself is not exactly a good impression to join a mysterious group who i knew nothing about..."
Yuki grins smugly as she continues her answer.
"But I will be joining the next operation and lend a hand, and during it, prove to me that you really mean it to do what you want."
