This is so far my best vanilla destroyer (fast escort and torpedo platform).
It had a start of a paintjob at one point, but it got redesigned and some of the stuff the paint was supposed to highlight has been moved or removed. Still not entirely happy with the rear armor either, but it's barely making the speed mark I want for it and I'm running out of places I can try to cram thrusters.

ooooh that looks great! if i were to design it, i prob would have some kind of weapon at the front, but i suppose that would decrease shielding space.

This is a light attack ship sorta deal I made. Only been playing for a little but its a fun ship, unlike the boxy little skiff that was my first ship.

I've finally stopped putting off painting. The destroyer above isn't in the set anymore because it sits just on the wrong side of a tier boundary. There is one ship for each bounty hunter tier.
A simple minimally armed and glacially slow shuttle at under 50 m/s. What do you expect with a 55k budget cap? A "proper" space fighter. Still kind of slow, barely topping 85 m/s A cutter suitable for customs patrol and shooting up smugglers. Doesn't quite make 65 m/s, A small FTL scout. Just shy of 78 m/s. A FTL gunboat, The bow is odd because it's the only thing with a bow gun in the entire set. It cruises at over 82 m/s and does over 103 m/s in boost mode. A trimmed down version of the Frigate with missiles. Presumably suitable for convoy escort. This is the price range that I took the longest to get something in. It cruises at just under 72 m/s and boosts to 88 m/s. The Frigate is a cruiser bow with engines. This unfortunately resulted in rather anemic firepower, but at least it looks good. Cruises at about 91 m/s and boosts to about 101 m/s. The Escort is also a much cheapened version of the previously posted destroyer. The nukes and mines and EMP missiles are out in favor of laser blasters with heavier rear defenses to deal with fighters. Cruises at a fraction under 88 m/s. This is the old destroyer with the nukes traded for HE and the flak and mines traded for awkwardly tetrised single branching ion trees. It's also not as obsessive about speed, doing 77 m/s compared to the old destroyer topping 81 m/s. This is a bulked out cruiser. The lasers are bigger, the ion trees break into individual beams in broadside, and the EMP missiles are out for twice as many HE missiles. Cruises at around 82 m/s with boost only getting it to about 85 m/s so it's more for starting or turning than increasing speed. This again reuses the Cruiser's bow, but the bulk is built around a pair of interwoven triply branching ion trees that cross-connect into a quadruply branching ion tree when firing broadside. Breaks 75 m/s but only manages about 61 m/s outside direct control due to the AI's utterly moronic handling of the throttle on huge engines. Boost is only useful to get up to speed a little quicker.
