This will be a very simple contest. Comment below if you have a reasonable question and you have read through my entire post.
What: You will pick one or two ships (detailed below) to repaint (not changing the physical structure in any way), and submit at the end of this contest, no more than 3 days before the deadline. Afterwards, we will vote in a google poll.
How: There will be two categories to pick from. You paint one ship from either categories, or from both of them, but only a single ship can be submitted to either of them. To start, just delete all the paint from a ship and paint something different onto it, preferably with different colors.
Category 1: You will take a copy of the Terror built-in (below or from in-game) and repaint it.
Category 2: You will take a copy of one of any built-in in Cosmoteer (other than the Terror) and repaint it. The smaller the ship, the easier it is to repaint, but the less likely you'll be able to put an interesting pattern onto it.
When: This contest will last from now until July 10, 10:00 AM UTC (below). To hinder the possibility of someone copying someone else's paint design, please post your design from July 7-10 UTC. If you have to post it earlier, however, then do so at your own risk. If this deadline seems too short, then tell me.
Where: Submissions will be accepted below, or on the official Cosmoteer Discord channel (only valid ship files, found in C:\Users[your name]\Documents\My Games\Cosmoteer\Saved Ships).
Why: The first place (and second place?) winners will recieve bragging/boasting/gloating rights, as well as a ship painted by one of a selection of multiplayer competitive players (so far Oneye, Door, Saris, Hatter, Cosmopyr, and I).
Notes:
-Don't plagiarise or copy a design.
-Try interesting and original painting techniques to stand out. Similarly, don't use a similar paint theme to the ship you are repainting (ex: fall-colored leaves on amazon, or thick curvy lines on Marathon)
-Paint cards (including dithering ones) aren't allowed, although you can use dithering on sections of your ship.
-If you have gotten a design contest ship of yours submitted to the game, please don't repaint it unless you think you can do a paint style so different from your own that people don't know you painted it.
-If you don't want to participate in category 2, still consider doing a smaller ship if you don't have as much time.
