History
The Canadian Space Command was founded in 2025, to research space and accelerate Canada into being a world leader in the space race.
Around the 2200s the CSC had created the first crudely bases sub light engine. Making it a guarded secret and not sharing it with the rest of the world encase someone tried to weaponize it. Around this time, resources such as water and fuels had become small, and small conflicts had broken out between countries. Due to Canada's sheer abundance of resource wealth, it was turned on by the rest of the world excluding its allies which tried to defend it. As hostile countries began threatening Canada for its resources Project North Star was activated. North Star was the activation of a hidden space-faring fleet that would allow Canada's population to escape Earth encase of events like the one unfolding.
As Canada left Earth behind its allies swarmed over the land to protect it and use the resources. Soon after, the planet would be razed by a nuclear storm due to the outbreak of war escalating.
As the Canadian Space Command guided the first colonial vessels through space, they discovered the thirteen colonies. Kind of ironic since there weres thirteen provinces and territories back on Earth, or what was left of Earth. These thirteen planets also harboured a mysterious radio signal emitting from them which drew the CSC towards them
These thirteen planets would be named after each of the Canadian Provinces and Territories left behind.
Soon the colony ships touched down on each of these worlds, and the first settlers got set to work immediately beginning to cultivate the land and build.
Scientists never found out the strange radio signal, but they did find alien remnants on these planets. A latchkey discovery. The CSC is still trying to figure out how to even get access to these as they seem to be locked behind hard light. Any munitions fired at them seems to do nothing.
Government
The CSC is a socialist democracy and focuses on building a better life for anyone regardless of who they are.
The old Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms is still used by the CSC.
Economy
The CSC is a mixed market economy. Its driving industries include shipbuilding, farming, fishing, industrial, and mining operations
Military
The CSC oversees the military whose main job is to guard the thirteen colonies and their peoples.
The military is broken into four branches. The army, air force, maritime navy, and space navy.
The spacecraft uses kinetic-based weapons and missiles. They do not possess shielding technology
The equipment they use is upgraded gear that they brought with them when they left Earth.
