It would be nice if you could hold shift (or alt, or some similar key) when rotating the camera using the Q and E keys in order to make the camera only rotate in 45 degree intervals.

instead of increasing keyboard complexity I recommend to create a sub setting in the settings to allow pre-setting the angles associated with these keys. Might as well extend this kind of options to others like zoom and game speed.
Zoom already has a setting for its speed. And anyway, it's not much of an increase of "keyboard complexity" since it's just taking a pre-existing keybind and adding a little bit more to it.
