The construction of the Everest-Class Supercarrier
Prime Minister Kevin Fournier prepared his notes. Running through what he was going to say before he appeared on the makeshift stage set up in front of the large building known as Foundry Hull which is a part of the Halifax shipyards. He checked his watch and walked to the stage. As he reached the centre podium and raised the small mic attached to it to mouth level so he could begin.
We have realized we are not alone as we thought in this universe. Larger hostilities exist and pose a threat to our way of life. Our people. Today we solve that. Today we begin the building of a vessel designed for battle, to go toe to toe with galactic threats. Home to thirty thousand of our best, our brightest. This well is sending the United Earth Government into a new era. Behind the prime minister, a screen turns on showcasing Prometheus. The crows in front of him gasp when they see the size of the ship come up on the viewscreen.
Project Prometheus will be the largest UNSC starship ever built. An achievement to all of mankind.
As he finished his speech the rush of jets flew overhead getting several murmurs and cheers from the crowd
The hull was floated back to UEG space from the forge. The large empty shell was an opposing sight regardless if it was not even close to being completed.
Beowulf poured over the documentation regarding Prometheus. He began reading over the subfile on the armament of the ship. He paused for a second, which was odd for an AI. He then went to look at the exact cost of the ship and then brought up the latest economic reports. He began digging deeper. He very quickly realized that this project would be very taxing on the economy and was perplexed as to why it was even constructed in the first place.
He ran through his data archives, news sites, and even classified documents he got through the station's systems. Beowulf noticed that there was a large influx of ships being constructed and older classes that were meant to be scrapped just disappeared.
He ran through the classified documents next. He was looking for something for the explanation for the building of Prometheus. Beowulf found it. A log of all decommissioned UNSC starships to be transported to the edge of UEG space. As the AI continued it discovered sections that were "blacked out" Bypassing the security measures he began reading about a deadly almost demonic-like cult. He continued digging even further and found footage of battles with them. Missiles trails barely keeping pace with huge space beasts, fusion reactors detonating. He loomed over the combat footage and realized this was the reason for Prometheus.

Our ships were eviscerated Admiral. We need a solution, an answer. Our ships as of now are not even remotely effective in combating this new enemy.
Marcus, what are you proposing?
Admiral, I am purposing the creation of a new classification of supercarrier. One that is bigger than the Infinity and her sister ships. We need something that can rival what new enemies we have and come out on top. I already have created a rundown on resources, personnel, and ordinances we need to complete a ship at such scales. The Vice-Admiral passes his superior the folder containing all of the information. He then passes him a data crystal that when plugged into the projector screen in the room will showcase the project. When the presentation ends the admiralty is awestruck at this new ship. Ten kilometres long and over thirty thousand personnel to run the beast.
After the Vice-Admiral presented his special project to the board he was given the green light almost immediately and was told not to worry about funding. Resources can be pulled from other special projects.
How intriguing Beowulf says to himself as he reviews how funding came to be for the supercarrier. He dives into the files to see more but is hit by a firewall. He attempts to bypass it but is uneventful. Now, this is getting stranger. Letting me not have access? The AI says with a guffaw.
