The plasma heavily damaged the fly-bying spacecraft, as it burned through the inner layer of frontal hull, destroying both the two smaller weapons aswell as the spinal one. Luckily for the spaceship though, the weapon was already discharged and not loaded with any kind of electricity inside, reducing the damage to basic hull injuries. Though not so basic, as the plasma clearly did enough to reveal some of the insides of the strange craft, letting the crew of Hercules have a brief look at heavy-duty, large wires, various metallic components and lots of smaller exits, gaps or again - wires inside of the hull. The overall shape of those structures might've reminded the humans of standard, carbon based life, if only for a short moment, before the main thruster of the enemy craft was pointed right at the Hercules. Soon enough, it set off releasing a giant flame of cone shaped star-hot plasma right at the human spaceship.
