UN Modernisation of Fleet to include refits to previous vessels

"Alongside the contemporary classes such as the Torpedo Destroyer and the Battleship, You might now be seeing designs from 10, Even 20 years ago, ships some of us weren't even alive to see in action"

-Hanjin Manufacturing Headquarters, Omega Periallus VIII

UNSA Medium Transport

The UNV-Vesta-8891

The UN Medium Transport, Meant for carrying unusually high amounts of civilians, Has been outfitted especially with larger, more luxurious quarters and corridors. Among typical metallic accents are wooden panels replacing typically white or grey padding, Each with blue/pink backlighting that varies slightly between vessels. 72% of the vessel is taken up mostly by quarters featuring carpeted floors and modern furnishings, the rest of the ship being taken up by a shuttle bay that holds 4 shuttles on 2 horizontal docking arms within the forward section of the ship. After the refit, the ship was given 4 Venus sub-light Ion drives on the typical raised, 4 engine bar of most contemporary UN vessels.

UNSA Gunship

The UNV-Boston-8909

The UN Gunship is a new addition to the Fleet, An extremely compact but robust design allowing only minimal facilities for the crew. The ship has a notoriously bad interior, low ceilings, heavy metallic grey plates along the walls, Hard floors as well as low cost gravitational systems that make the ship's rooms seem to bounce and clank as the weapons systems prime and reload. All this makes the ship an unsought after assignment when compared to larger, more equipped UN vessels such as the Cruiser. The design was intended as a low cost, narrow frame combat ship to support larger UN warships and patrol civilian lanes without expending too many resources.

UNSA Heavy Escort

The UNV-Pegasus-7998

The UN's vintage cruiser, The Heavy Escort was one of the original ships of the first modernisation effort back in the late 22nd century, Back before LRPT technologies and just after the blockade of Epsilon Atturnons. The ship is now back and with extensive changes mainly inside the vessel. Antiquated power distribution systems have been replaced along with the main upgrade, A small shuttle bay and LRPT launchers in the front section of the ship. The old fashioned interior design and original quarters layout makes the ship sought after by fans of the simpler times, Blue accents and orange tint mood lighting from the original vessel kept mostly for the nostalgia. This old vessel still continues to serve as a light cruiser and escort for newer UN ships with no structural flaws or accumulative problems in the design found to this day, proving how robust UN designs were and are still.

UNSA HIBE Frigate

The UNV-X2
`

The UN's HIBE Frigate is an extremely powerful, experimental ship that uses a high intensity beam of plasma to destroy anything ahead of it. The concept was never adopted into the fleet based off of its terrible power requirements and insane cost, However 3 prototype ships still remain across the Greater UN Colonies. It is believed that all three are currently on route to the Northern Colonies. Although they have never been used in actual combat, Testing shows the weapon works as intended and the vessels are functional enough to fire at least 1 sustained beam before losing power. The class of ship is currently the most expensive vessel in service anywhere in the greater UN colonies to date. No other ship comes close to being as expensive, It would be cheaper for the UN to invest in 4 new battleships.

UNSA Long Range Frigate

UNV-Vanguard-8901

The UN's Long Range Frigate is a light ship with a small fighter deck behind the command module. The ship's advanced interior docking systems allow for 6 small craft to be stood on horizontal pylons within the ship, Allowing for the use of these ships as platforms for long range bombing or surveillance operations. The interior of the ship is said to be uncomfortably hot due to the venting heat from the fighters after use. The ship is also distinctly industrial and has been said to smell of oil or fumes, Likely also to do with the fighter bay. When the ship itself is put into combat, the small turrets and lacking armour around the sides makes it easy to disable, meaning the ship relies heavily on outranging others and making use of UN Tactical Bombers to disable targets before they enter effective combat ranges.

UNSA Corvette

UNV-Glasgow-8023

The UN Corvette was a design created through the original modernisation program alongside other classics such as the Heavy Escort. Its sloping hull was found to cause an accumulative flaw in the ship's superstructure, Each use of the warp drive adding to micro fracturing on the hull that would eventually cause the ship's armour plating to tear around the pointed slope leading towards the nose of the vessel. The design flaw was recently corrected as the once retired corvette now begins to enter service again with enhanced structural integrity surrounding the front of the ship.

UNSA Patrol Ship

The UNV-Tengu-8920

The UN's Patrol ship is an extremely compact vessel and the smallest to make use of the iconic UN naval bridge. The cramped interior means that the industrial machinery from the engineering section melts into living spaces onboard. As a result the layout is said to be uncomfortably hot with machinery and ammunition loaders between quarters. exposed cable and pipes run along the floors and ceilings of corridors and awkward cut outs in which pipes are ran through cling to the ceilings of quarters. While technology allows for sophisticated environmental controls on ships and better construction could easily hide the wires and machinery so well camouflaged on similarly sized vessels, The cheap nature of these ships to be used in system patrols and cargo lane protection makes them less of a priority when considering their background role and relatively short mission periods.

UNSA Fleet Logistics Barge

UNV-Douglas-8907

The UN's logistical barges are what maintain UN fleet movements across systems. Typically assigned at about 1-3 vessels per larger scale fleet, The ships are in near constant transit, resupplying before chasing back its assigned fleet. The ships have small work spaces and quarters for assigned crew who normally specialise in engineering, which allows them to perform limited repairs on vessels and resupply cargo between engagements. The engineering qualifications of most crew on logistical barges means that they are also dispatched as engineering vessels on other missions, being sent as problem solvers or supervising experiments when meeting up with lone vessels.

UNSA Fighters

The UN interceptor is the cheapest variant of fighter available, having two moderate yield plasma turrets that are capable of destroying a vessel comparable to the interceptor itself.

The UN Tactical Bomber is a sophisticated long range, warp capable ship killer, armed with four torpedo launchers allowing it to chase larger ships across entire systems and eradicate any similarly sized fighter in combat. Due to the volume of technology within the bomber, the fusion reactor was placed toward the back, which while being covered by a sheet of armour, allows it to be exploited by a ship's own torpedo launchers. Despite this weakness, keeping its front to the enemy it excels in combat.

The UN Fighter is the balanced middle ground between both the bomber and interceptor. The ship is used as the standard model of fighter, replacing the original which was made back during the formation of the fleet. The ship can accelerate to incredible speeds and can fire its plasma turrets from the front while being able to pass a target and use its single torpedo launcher from the back doing extreme damage to similarly sized vessels and even the sub-systems of larger ones.

The Heavy UN Bomber was for a long time the single fighter of the fleet before the 2190s Bernard Shipyards fleet expansion program saw the integration of multiple variations to allow for increased versatility for different situations. Despite this, even among the modern fighters of the fleet, the Heavy Bomber still sees frequent deployment over others, proving that its slightly dated design still holds up against increasingly advanced adversaries.

UNSA PT Boat

The UNV-Lightbender-8929

The UN PT Boat is a small but expensive specialised ship, Meant to take on large numbers of fighters or small craft. The PT Boat can accelerate to incredible speeds in order to catch up with small ships and has rare, Conventional nuclear torpedo launchers. While Plasma torpedoes are used by the UN for their accuracy in destroying multiple specific systems at once while leaving the rest of the ship intact, Nuclear torpedoes are a more indiscriminate, expensive alternative. A nuke to the front of a fighter would destroy everything forward of the engines, while a shot to the back melts the main drive and causes the fusion reactor to lose containment and explode. Because of this and the PT Boat's ability to catch up with some fighters, The ship acts as the ultimate deterrence toward common, hit and run pirate attacks on UN assets using fighters, As so, they can be seen patrolling primary shipping lanes and previously vulnerable installations.

UNSA Support Carrier

The UNV-Avalanche-8924

The UN Support Carrier is a smaller, more lightly armed alternative to the original UN carrier. When small skirmishes demanded fighters, The UN would often have to expend excessive resources redirecting large, cruiser sized carriers so that they could dispatch fighters into the engagement. As a part of the Bernard Shipyards fighter overhaul to make them more of an asset, More fighter variants were made along with the addition of multiple Long Range Frigates into the fleet, capable of storing and servicing fighters. Along with these strives, the Support Carrier was created to serve as a platform to deploy more ships than the long range frigate, while being used in engagements that dont demand as much as a typical carrier could offer. The Support Carrier can hold 9 fighters of any variant on internal horizontal pylons, allowing the ship to outrange hostile vessels by far and allow for the deployment of fighters around less prominent fleets.

this is the original carrier, at the time, the only variant of the role in service.

UNSA Long Range Explorer (2210s variant)

The UNV-Pioneer-8926

Far Beyond where the dance of spaceships and the masterful manipulations of humanity across the systems are no longer visible, Outposts of humanity still exist. Far beyond the line where the communications chatter drops, and where even the light from our stars is yet to reach, Humanity still treads, ever curious. In the 2180s, Nearly a quarter of the space humanity now calls home was as foreign and distant as where we continue to explore now. Long range explorers have always been a priority of the UN, And even now as the Northern colonies grow increasingly militant and more and more weapons platforms are dotted along the edges of colonised space, The scientific frontier is still being pushed as 7 of these new LR exploration ships were sent off East, into the unknown, continuing the tradition and ever expanding the frontiers of science and humanity.

ok so hi, there are a few more ships to post but i think ive done enough to actually be like putting this out.

Also unrelated, something i realised is that while my faction now spans multiple solar systems adjacent to Sol, the whole thing is called UN which would be like calling the world America when that isnt everyone. The thing is though that the rest of the colonies are not on an equal level with Sol, and the UN, Mars and Venus have a majority of the political power while also being some of the most industrially capable worlds apart from some powerful colony worlds like Epsilon Aturnons. Despite this, Each colony world and the resources or other colonies in the system are mostly fine as while Sol has power, The level of sophistication that humanity has and the amount of abundant resources that we can exploit means that pretty much everyone is some level above being comfortable and the economy model being universal for generations makes the state of things not an issue for people. Anyways I guess its not so bad because you have your own local government representing you and you're just the UN's colony, idk could be dumb.

Very nice

Hey what mod did you use? StarTrek

ApexKestrel most of it is that star wars mod that you can see and i think the paint is called kroom's decal pack

i want to test out my new prototype

ApexKestrel idk if you mean you want to test on my ships but ive killed the mods by enhancing the range and damage of some guns and ive also got tons of random other junk from other mods up in them so it will probably fail

            OH Don't worry

The Frame base on the Gundam00 2 season it use Ben Mods mostly

ApexKestrel Oh forgot The shape adaptive shield mod too

                  looks great

                    StarTrek mods?

darkgalaxy30 the starwars mod with krooms decals or something like i said, there are also random bits from a bunch of mods i think. most of it visually is the starwars mod though like the bridge and guns.

StarTrek when I try to load your ships, there's always a bunch of holes. I have SW, Krooms, WH40K, GA, ABH, Meranera and Naval Vengeance on. I know for sure you use some parts from Deco mod, but unclear what else. Do they all work in the latest version of Cosmoteer?

Raufbold wait show me the gaps on a ship then ill find out what the parts r

StarTrek easier to say where there aren't holes... here's the bigger carrier that you posted. It looks like I'm missing some really big mod that you're getting most of your parts from.
