A new type of missile that explode/deploy small bombs when near (maybe two shields distance away from the enemy ship, or a distance seen as acceptable) the enemy ship (of course if the missile get shot down before it deploys the bombs, the bombs don't get deployed). The missiles should be produced in a similar way to mines (requires ammo) but the bombs will not have frags, or proximity explosion but on contact/impact with a ship in a fashion similar to HE. However the bombs may stay on the map in a similar manner to current mine (live sometime, although if necessary for balance or performance sake can have a really short life time). I have no idea of how balance it may be if integrated into the game: more damage than HE or not ? But it will be a missile that will spread it's damage over a surface with not much in term of penetration power. They will probably be slower than HE and have 2 of them on a missile launcher ( cause they will be bigger), though, that only depends on walt, or anyone that use that idea for a mod.

No, it's not an attempt to replace mines, but if Walt wants to, he can replace the mines with those. It's his choice, not mine.
