The Ellians were taken aback by the intimidatingly tall figure that appeared before them and clutched their weapons tightly as the aliens began to speak. The language was a foreign one, but it was not entirely alien: The leader of the Ellian marines was well versed in some of the trade languages spoken in the sector, and there were some words and phrases sprinkled here and there in the Unralith's speech that he could understand. Terms like "Welcome," "Ellian" and "exhilarated." Enough to piece together some semblance of understanding.

The taller one then came forward with an arm outstretched, its body seemingly floating on the currents given the absence of movement in its long robes. The corporal nervously glanced down at the extended hand briefly before slowly reaching out, grabbing it and shaking it. "(Good/Nice) faa (see/meet/contact) pyu," he greeted tentatively, "Voa pyu (speak/talk) Trade Common vameche?"

I do not speak your language. Now, as what any should say, I request you take me to your leader. We do not want an alliance or a war, but a friendship.

Representative Emma was slightly confused by Eidith’s behavior, but didn’t think much if it, and simply showed a kind smile. She has met with many nations, and she did notice their simplistic uniform, pondering why.

When she began to hear they were interested, she was truly glad. Not because the corporation will profit, but because she genuinely wanted to learn more about the nation.

After some more translations, she began to respond. “I’m glad to hear your interest in our corporation. Before the meeting is arranged, I would like to gift you something useful.”

One of her staff had a small box in their hand, with a ribbon on it, they handed it to Emma, and she opened it up, showing what is inside. You could see a small tablet of sorts.

”It contains what our AI could translate as of now, and will be constantly updated. It is the Galactic standard. I noticed more faction’s interests, and this might help.

Nordic Sciences originates from the nation Astra, and we have a close bond with them.”

Ernest was somewhat sceptical about the professed abilities of the tablet to translate the Republican language into Galactic Standard - actually, he was even more sceptical that a galactic standard even existed - but he received the present as graciously as he could. "Many thanks," he said appreciatively. "I'm sure this will come in handy for the meeting."

He was somewhat confused when the representative mentioned her company's relationship with their homeland. It struck him as conceptually foreign for a company to regard itself as a diplomatic entity that other states can enter into relations with. He wondered briefly if that was their aim here, but figured that it would not really matter in the long run.

"If that is all, Emma-jun, I shall go and arrange the meeting with the Jakachokyata now. If you would like to return to your ship while you wait." He gestured politely towards the diplomatic shuttle. "Alternatively you can come with me to the bridge of my ship and we will organise transportation down to the surface for you."

The corporal could not make out the majority of what the stranger said, but he did recognise the word for negation. It would be hard for port authorities to communicate with these new arrivals if they could not speak the same language but that in and of itself was no reason for denying them entry. "I want to inspect your cargo," he told them.

The number of alien craft present in the system was starting to be problematic. With each new ship that arrived, the authorities grew increasingly concerned by the balance of power in the region. Observatories on the planet had been studying the alien warships for some time now, and their findings would suggest that these vessels were quite powerful based on the amount of thermal radiation they emitted.

Thus, when the Halifax and other such vessels decided to enter the star system, it was decided to launch another two fleets of cruisers to increase the available forces in the area. The marines and military police mobilised more corvettes and bordering parties to inspect the newly arrived alien vessel.

Ella The Frigates sensors package picks up on the vessels coming towards it. As a precaution, the ship's Archer-Missile tubes are armed. The Halifax sends out a hail. "This is UNSC Halifax actual, any open channels please respond"

The heavy frigate slows down to a crawl, as it begins to orbit just a bit away from the Ellian defense fleets.

The iridescent craft swiftly took it's aim towards the planet and activated it's engines, which caused it to accelerate at speeds much higher than the Ellian vessels could. Right after, it attempts scanning the fleet, trying to figure out what hides inside of them.

In spite of its hails, the UNSC Halifax received no responses from the Ellian systems forces in the area, giving the impression that either they could not respond or they chose not to, neither of which was a good sign for a diplomatic venture. What attention they did attract with the manoeuvre, however, would seem to be unwanted as a score of corvettes began approaching at a low but deliberate speed, obviously carrying boarding parties of some form.

The marine accepted the documents gratefully and tucked them under her arm. Taking out a yellow-coloured notepad with a white seal and a form printed on it, she quickly penned in some details before neatly ripping it out and handing it to the Captain. Upon quick inspection, it appeared like some sort of ticket but in reality it was a temporary trade permit which allowed the freighter access to starports and exchanges.

Ella The captain salutes the marine, and then begins on their way. However, one must still ask, who will inspect the destroyer?

Seeing the captain salute, the Ellian stopped and returned the gesture before boarding his corvette with the rest of her crew. Detaching from the freighter, the small ship performed a brief lateral burn to bring it under the freighter and around to dock directly with the destroyer. A similar scene took place within the belly of the craft and after acquiring a copy of the destroyer's cargo list, the corporal issued the destroyer captain a trade permit as well. The two documents were then sent off to the Exchange Military Space Station where they can be reproduced and given to linguists to be decipher. Given the diversity of the traders that make their way through Port every day, it should prove to be a relatively fast process.

The five hundred cruisers of the Ellian defence fleet soon came into effective range with the Sir Simon. They held their fire but continued their relentless advance towards the lone battleship, ready to board it and storm it if necessary. With luck, the captain would surrender before any bloodshed could occur.

As they drew nearer, they noticed the battleship jettisoning multiple small craft. Unsure of the nature of these vessels, the Ellian fleet trained their point-defence guns on them, ready to destroy them if they turned out to be some sort of fighter or munition.

A large black cloud followed by a red flash is seen at the borders of the Ellian Confederation, so a warp signature is detected at one of the nearest space stations, after which a small exploration spacecraft leaves the black cloud, while the spacecraft accelerated the cloud gradually disappeared, the ship continued at a moderate speed through the system.

Even with their most primitive instruments, the Ellians could tell that the new arrival was of a different nature compared to the other vessels present in the system. It was far too small to be a warship or a trading vessel and its infrared signature was far too faint to indicate any offensive capacity. The observers quickly concluded that it was likely to either be a small passenger ship, a courier craft or a diplomatic vessel of some description. In any case, as it was unlikely to be carrying anything worth taxing, the marines refrained from searching the vessel. Instead, a small corvette was dispatched to guide it into port.

The corvette in question was the ESS Messenger of Exchange, a small vessel fitted with a tow line at the back and a bumper at the front that could work in teams to shunt large vessels to and fro. They were typically used to bring cargo ships into port at low speeds, but they could also serve as guides for small vessels. Though Messenger of Exchange itself was a commissioned vessel of the Metropolitan Navy, it was still crewed civilian personnel - a practice that was considered standard in this part of the Ellian world.

The Messenger of Exchange slowly navigated its way towards the diplomatic vessel, transmitting a welcome message over open frequencies. Even if the alien vessel could not understand what the message was saying - which was most likely the case, they can likely discern from its appearance that it was neither a warship nor carried hostile intent as it was unarmed save for its rear-mounted tow hook. The corvette stopped a respectful distance away from the diplomatic shuttle and wriggled its radiators - a gesture for the other craft to follow - before turning around and moving back towards the starport.

Ella The ships Captain Darcy Ogden studies the small warships coming towards them. He tells the communications officer to send another hail. He gets out of his chair, which is bolted to the floor. He moves swiftly to the intercom system located nearby. Reaching the device he presses the button and leans towards the mic. "Sigh, Sergeant Lancaster prepare your men and women for possible boarding action. "Yes Sir" Lancaster replies. Before turning off the intercom he hears "alright men I want your gear ready two minutes ago."

The marines drop what they are doing. Cards, books, conversations are ended and thrown aside. The marines ready up, donning their BDU's strapping the protective pieces of Armour they have to themselves. "Check check clear" is heard as they do a final weapons check before heading to the service elevator to position themselves by the airlocks which are locked down.

At the airlocks they wait until the Ellian ships attempt to dock.

Ella The destroyer captain was puzzled with the cargo list request, as the ship had no proper cargo hold. So in turn, just the documents about the ammunition, rations, etc. was sent over. The Destroyer detached from the freighter and continued to guard the lone freighter and transport, their course towards the nearest station.

Sir Simon's captain was boastful and egotistical to say the least, but he knew how to activate the guns and lockdown proecdures. As the last of the unidentified craft left the ship and returned from whence the battleship came, the main battery guns opened fire. 10 large emerald-green blasts fired into the approaching fleet, with the secondary batteries unleashing salvos of laser rounds. The shields were put into combat modes, the reactor vents were fully opened, and the ship was sent full-throttle as a charge against the enemy. The Captain of the Simon was utilizing the Main bridge as a kind of loophole, using the primitive Battleship A.I. systems to guide the ship to where it needed to go and what to fire at.

The Sir Simon's guns opened up, with a powerful THOOM , with 5 emerald-green lasers per main gun barreling towards the fleet, with waves of a brilliant blue from the secondary battery. The freighter detected the shots fired, and requested support from the Redford Navy for a hostile Raven-Class Battleship. The transmission about Sir Simon was hastily made, and thus anyone could crack the transmission and figure out what was going on.

The ship continues at the same speed as before, being able to detect the corvette before it can even approach, the captain of the exploration ship did not increase the speed because he did not want to appear aggressive, even having more advanced fold systems than Ellian Confederation, he did not want to disrespect the Ellians.

After that the ship accepts the transmission request:
