I just recently found out about the game and I am astonished by the creative potential this provides and the works of art others have made. So i wanted to make something myself. I wanted to keep the same theme with them and i hope i've achieved at least that. Criticism/feedback or tips of any sort are appreciated, especially on the looks. I've never played bounty hunter and haven't battle-tested my ships, so maybe you know some good ships that perform really well in battle against anything of similar price that i can use to improve my own designs, that would really help. P.S. I've read the forums before joining and i am pretty inspired to come up with a faction or to at least continue making and improving themed ships, if I'll have some more free time. also thanks for paying attention! Edit: Just to clarify, those aren't my actual first ship designs, i've played the game for a while already and tinkered around with stuff to get how it all works.
Alicitech Those are awesome for your first ship designs! Both in aesthetics and functionality, they are far above average for your experience level. As Saris said, if you're interested in competitive MP my guide is a good place to start, but if not I don't want you to feel pressured into playing competitively. Do whatever you find fun! There are plenty of mods that add hundreds of parts and even an RP section if you're interested in any of that.
Alicitech min assuming by your “first” ships these are the first after learning the game and learning not to cluster things lol, if not than damn. also beautiful ships
Bro these are actually good, congrats
Very fantastic looking ships, and I'm glad that there's another creative member of cosmoteer that's interested in getting better competitively and with painting. Really nice to have you. The first tip everyone has ever to get better at cosmoteer is to ultimately check out 0neye's guide, also located on the forum: https://forum.cosmoteer.net/d/7783-cosmoteer-ultimate-ship-design-and-part-guide. I wish you goodluck in the learning process and if you want specific tips from a living person instead of a wall of text you can contact me
I will look forward to seeing more of your ships, These are amazing.
Jared i wrote "some of my first ships", implying that there are others i find not worth sharing, but those are the last of my first 10-12 designs that i made while trying to figure out how stuff worked. And also i frequently delete ships that i don't like so one ship could be remade until i am comfortable with the result.
Today i only made 1 ship, a slightly reimagined version of Citadel 02.
And another one, a little smaller than the others. Now with crew management. (not that it is necessary on a ship that small)
And another one, the remake of the beam one, more efficient and costs much less. Sadly i am struggling to come up with anything new. At least i understand crew management and stuff.
Alicitech elegant shape
And another Ion beam, tried to extend on the previous shape. I love this weapon and the things that can be done with it. sadly i don't know how to implement frontal point defence without loosing protection. I'll also think of creating a faction while i come up with ships.
