Asteroid "Secret" Bases

I've seen several people that want to build a base inside an asteroid but can't do it because the vanilla asteroids only have 2 parts, so mods adding more parts to asteroids are needed, and I wonder if such mods exist.
If there is no mods to do that, I might make one.

kwhwwymwn you can just add the asteroid parts too the Terran build list and have them in there own “Asteroids” tab

Ofc you can build with vanilla, my oldest weapons range test setup is a vanilla asteroid base.

Lafiel building ships that look like asteroids isnt really the same than building asteroids, but thats probably good enough

that mod seem to be dead since 2017 and has been discontinued since the 0.13 but it globally look like what i had in mind with the main difference being that i would have added the terran part to the asteroid class instead of adding asteroid part to the terran class

the way it look, you succeeded to build terran ships inside an asteroid ship, and i wonder how you did it since it's impossible to build a ship too close to another (at least with the latest versions)

kwhwwymwn Thats only with placing ships from your library, you can still build an terran ship and then build an astroid around it. And if you use tractor beams you can even make it as tightly as possible, eliminating any empty space.
