ResExsention Thrusters should have a huge exclusion zone.

      long range, invisible burst laser that makes missiles go pew pew; minimal damage to hulls

      won't be long until hundred missile salvos become the (realistic) meta...

      ResExsention eh not a huge fan of the idea without some significant drawbacks.

        Reactors will eventually run out of power, and you have to replace it with a new one.

        Reactors make lemon juice and don't power anything, just like how Walt wanted

        Roasted I thought this went specifically for realism?

        Somewhat high inaccuracy might be the best way to balance a long range laser PD, honestly. Logically the targetting computer would compensate for lightspeed delay and attempt to lead a target but aside from giving missiles some wacky guidance this seems to be the next simplest option.

          It's more incorporating levels of realism in order to make the game annoying to play, hence the name of the mod being "Annoyingly Realistic Cosmoteer", not just "Realistic Cosmoteer"

          Ultranova Is it possible to make vanilla parts burn out or overheat?

            Roasted Define "Burn out". It's possible to do overheating, just not easy.

              Ultranova For example, if boost thrusters use their boost too much they stop working or mayby even explode or be set a flame.

              Not sure if this has already been suggested, but crewmates require oxygen to breathe, so maybe there would be an oxygen tank that slowly ran out. No oxygen = suffocation = death

                I made flak clouds last longer (1.5 seconds to 15 seconds)

                  -Friendly fire is always on, can be annoying or helpful
                  -Shields are hit all projectiles including yours/friendly
                  -Flak shots explode into HE bullets which will cause the smoke cloud and it should block energy weapon shots and blind any/all weapons from aiming within 4 meters

                    As I said, since missiles with be getting R A N G E there has to be some way to stop them besides just secondary measures. (Yes, shields are secondary defences.)

                    Another logical solution might be to give laser antimissile guns kind of low damage, forcing you to have several in order to have a somewhat effective screen.

                        ResExsention no, crew are in desperate need for this system. You need crew to load the ammo onto the conveyor system and crew to unload the bullets from the storage and into the cannon.
