Background (Extinction/Pre-Redemption Period)
The TeraNova Federation is the crippled remnant of the now ancient U.E.F that had disappeared out of existence, only a select few know why this had occurred and this is simply referred to as the “Extinction”. But the scars and paranoia indicate the presence of a great tragedy that once occurred. The federation may be a fraction of what it once was but, through the efforts of salvaging vital U.E.F technology they were able to renew the very ships that saved the remnant from their impending doom. The remnant is small but has many ancient ties that may once again be ignited. They are constantly looking for a home in which to stay, they wish for a haven not a battleground. This inevitable has forced them to adapt into a Nomadic lifestyle for now.

Government
The faction’s Government system operates under a Federal republic, they believe in the importance of Democracy and Meritocracy. However, there are currently no states and only representatives as their homeland was destroyed.

The race of this faction is Human .
Ethics and Nature
They are scientifically determined and wish to make many relations with other factions. They are not xenophobic but will be weary of any faction that does not have a similar Government system to themselves. They have a high sense of morality and would try to avoid engaging against other factions if said faction is no real threat to them. Slavery is never an option to them and if they come across any faction that utilises the act there will be heavy dissent towards them.
Technology
The Faction specialises in shielding and heavier battery armaments, they have relatively good armour placement, especially on smaller vessels, but lack manoeuvrability due to the loss of thruster technology in the Extinction. They are also inexperienced in making ships larger than heavy cruisers in which they tend to rely on other factions to do so. Their interest in trade over war gives them many opportunities to have friendly relations and to prosper but their lack of communication knowledge may make those relations hard to form.

Doctrine
The faction has a heavy focus on long range engagements, ensuring its crew are kept safe. They prefer to utilise star ships as they no doubt excel in that category.
Navy
The Navy consists of 4 active fleets
Land Force
Due to the lack of a home planet the Federation currently has no significant land force, though small reserves that remain in their transport ships are still available, but are outdated.
Command Chain
The faction uses a meritocratic system with a relatively simple chain of command, some roles being:
Fleet Admiral - Coordinates and directs multiple fleets during large scale engagements
Fleet Captain - Coordinates individual fleets during battles
Squadron Leader - Commands and Maneuvers individual squadrons during engagements.
The chain of command is private with the majority of the information being classified in order to tackle reconnaissance
