RtasVadum Yeah, basically. There's one additional line to that rule tho: You've gotta combine 2 beams of equal strength per prism or at least make sure the weaker one hits the prism later, as the damage dropoff is decided by the order of incoming beams.
Also, you'll find competetive building extremely useful even in bounty hunter, so it's not something to disregard completely only because you don't feel like playing against other players. (On another note, I don't play mp for the sake of having a terrible connection, but adopting a competetive style really helps with designing good ships. Also, still got a job of sorts to teach other people competetive shipbuilding (feel free to come over at the Academy and say hi), so it'd be bad if I were to drop all those guidelines.)
YAreyaREdAzE Now, what's that supposed to be? I know you're into PD lines for the sake of it, but slapping MRs next to them feels plenty excessive at first glance and can quickly cost you the edges (and all your missile defense with them).
Also, as far as I'm aware the production rate of nuke factories is not high enough to (steadily) supply 2 launchers, otherwise I'd have to completely redesign the Sunstorm. (You just did that for the alpha-strike instead, didn't you?)
All in all, the design seems just as easy to counter if not even easier, as that bit of secondary armament can be negated by sufficient flak and the Sunstorm uses the flak in both modes to make up for the lacking fire rate and accuracy of nukes. You certainly outdid me in terms of cost management tho, that's like double the reactors (minus the large one) and tractor beams for 500k credits less.
(Btw, those small reactors seem completely out of place compared to the rest, don't you think energy storage would've fit better?)
I_Am_Jarvis I edited the finished design together with a few additional lines into my last reply to you on the Building Academy to keep from double-posting. Seems like you already checked the reply before that tho, so please check it out now. Also, this technically works as an all-rounder frame (as long as you keep the amount of energy weapons low), so have fun experimenting a bit or maybe reverting it to a normal missile ship.
