The Federation of Holy Caradoon
General
The Federation of Holy Caradoon also known as the Federal Cult of Caradoon, the Caradoon Federation, or just as FHC.
FHC first started out as a small religious order on one of the first colonies from earth who used the experimental FTL travel. Being separated for so long on a new planet, a new form of culture and religion started to take shape. Within just 100 years the Church of Caradoon was wormed, another 100 took for the State of Caradoon and then just 50 years for other smaller colony towns to form the FHC. Now the FHC has come a long way, using the old experimental FTL travel to invent their own functioning system that relies upon a local resource, called the Breath of Caradoon, similar in the way compressed Nebula gas is used by some FTL technology. FHC controls a single Trinary star system of two blue dwarves and one blue K-type star(this star is supposed to be purple, but only some, who are born on the FHC homeworld can see it as such). There are two gas giants in the same system and four planets with a basic composition and no real value in resources or terraforming. The homeworld of the FHC is called the Gradel of Caradoon.

Mostly avian and aquatic (no mammalian or reptilian lifeforms currently living, some fossils or primitive reptilian and mammalian lifeforms have been found, but it seems that the geography of the planet has forced a more avian and aquatic life)
Geography
The planet is mainly islands with high reaching rockfaces, only few shores reach the sealine. It seems that the planet used to have a massive volcanic activity that has now calmed down. There are no actual landmasses big enough to form any continents, with many islands and high winds, the oceans are restless. With massive waves and fast-moving water, most of the shorelines have been beaten into a pulp. This is the theorized reason why 98% of landmasses are surrounded by high cliff faces. The planet has plantlife, more purplish in color than green, the oxygen composition was a little different but still breathable, there was a weird new element found in the concentration of most lifeforms.
There are gases that escape from the crust of the planet on the seabed, knows as Q/C43 or Caradoons Breath as the locals call it. Remnants of this gas are found in most life on the planet, its also mined by the people for FTL and other technological uses.

The people of FHC believe in this creature known as Caradoon
The story goes, that the first settlers of Gradle were met with strife and hardship, avian creatures twice the size of the ones found on Earth with, resembling no bird known to man as would be with a foreign ecosystem. The ocean harsh and filled with massive and hostile creatures, not knowing who is a predator and who is not. The air was breathable but different. (it is theorized that the element, known as Q/C43, or Caradoons Breath is the cause of the religion and belives in some form or another, it is advised to not mention this to the people of Caradoon as they do turn hostile when questioning the belives they hold) But one day, it is said, when a man was casing up in the stars he was swooped up by a creature, resembling a duck with three eyes and human hands for legs. After 5 years the man returned, saying that he was chosen by Caradoon, one the ancient gods of the cosmos who was betrayed by his kin and prisoned in this system to rot for eternity. Before Caradoon the system was a simple nebula, gas floating in space, Caradoon is said to have used cosmic powers to turn this system into a thriving world, modeling the stars by to liken the eyes, giving the life a pure avian linage and waiting for the opportunity to guide a civilization into freeing Caradoon and spreading his power throughout the cosmos once again. The man also spoke of the Earth being one of the first playing ground of the cosmic ones, but others disliking Caradoon and his creation, tricked him and locked him in this system. When Caradoon heard the cries of the hairless apes of earth he opened a hole in space to let them land here, with him. First, the people of Gradle though the man to be mad, after he had gathered some followers and they started mining the gas, seeing the power and technology derived from the gas, others joined the then Church of Caradoon. While others were struggling with basics such as electricity and heat and shelter, the Church of Caradoon thrived on their technology, which the man said was tough to him by Caradoon himself. The man lived to 198 years of age, even with the best technology the usual lifecycle of a colonial human was about 115-130. Within 200 years there were many called the Chosen, people who could see the purple star and feel the presence of Caradoon. The chosen were the ones who designed the technology the FHC now relies on. There are many secrets to the people living on Gradle, some they do not share with outsiders or traders.
Goverment
FHC follows a Federal government model, even tho it is a one religion government, no chosen are permitted to be heads of states, as Caradoon does not like for his chosen the meddle in matters like politics. There are only 6 states, consisting of 3050 colonized islands, forming 600 clusters. Clusters are basically the same as a county, it is formed from islands that are close by for efficient trade a bureaucracy. There is no one head of States, each Cluster has Representative. Clusters can have their own style of bureaucracy and laws in them, as long as they don´t halt the Great Release. (a mission set by the Caradoon that would free him from his shackles and brake him free to roam the universe, how this mission is supposed to go down, we don't know. The church does not reveal that information)
Most of the governments work quite similar to a Libertarian government, but we cant say its a true libertarianism as no other form of religion is allowed to be practiced on the Gradle and the Church is above the Government. But as far as we know, the people seem to all believe in the Caradoon and the Great Release, how a planet full of biological humans can all live in one goal and belief is beyond what you would expect from humans, there are some form of revolts and uprising in all kinds of human-inhabited systems and empires that we know of, besides this one, it could be the size of the population (currently 12 billion which is impressive, but humans to breed quite rapidly)
Army
We don´t yet know much of the army. Just from current observations, we can say that it would likely not be expanding any time soon.
Technology
FHC uses gas, as their main power of energy, compound Q/C43, extracted from the seabed. The compound resembles a compressed nebula, only less powerful yet more stable. The gas is not flammable in the usual sense and compressing it with gas compressing technology used for most gas-based resources does not create the same power output as FHC technology. How the technology works is yet a mystery, it is a form of compression that then leads to energy, but there are some other nuances we have not access to at this moment.
Weaponry
While first believed to be some form of gas-based weaponry like most technology in FHC use, it comes out that they mainly use projectile weapons. Ships with massive flak cannons and what could be described as rocket pays have been observed to be part of the FHC Fleet. What the rockets hold, we yet don't know. We do theorize that like most factions its nuclear based or high explosives using the local gas resource.
