Arclight
Size & General Info
Arclight is rather small in relation to most other factions, and has a low planet count as its main races are very used to low-gravity. They don't need much onboard their ships because of their advanced replicator technology, which means repairs are fast and expenses for each ship is high. What they need is some rather specific minerals, almost invisible to most sensors. Because of this, the main goal to them is to mine, get what they need and protect themselves. Their nature has adapted to this, so they are territorial but won't say no if someone asks for help, in hope that they might have pointers to the nearest motherlode of this mysterious element.
Size: 2 Surveyor fleets (1 Surveyor-class cruiser, 6-10 Lightdebts cloaking corvettes and support frigates) and 2 Patrol fleets (5 Lightdebts) +indeterminate number of colony and trade ships.
2 small stations, a planet (12bil pop.), 2 moons (1bil and 0.7bil pop.)
Species
There are 2 main species that are in Arclight, though they don't see themselves as two. The only real changes this has is that one has darker hair and is more aggressive, the other more stamina and patience. Both rather like marshmallows, in large amounts.
Ships
Arclight's main ship class is corvette, and they use them in conjunction with cruisers and destroyers well. Their history has made them see stealth as a major part of warfare, and so they have researched and tested cloak much more than most factions.
[More ships will be added when they are seen in-rp, or are in the databases of captured ships/stations]
Lightdebt (Area cloaker)
The main type used at the moment is type 5, letting small groups of corvettes and frigates be cloaked, but with the downside of the enemy knowing exactly where they are. This is sometimes seen as a good thing, as it can allow large fleets to look small and small ones to look gigantic. Some later versions (type 6 and 7) have a small drone core, allowing drone-ships to be used.
The cloak it uses redirects all radiation that hits its field around the ships inside, to one of its 6 prongs, where it can take in the radiation for an extra boost of power. in some high-radiation places, they can turn off their reactor and operate on this alone.
Looks like it'd do a nasty thing to a foot if stepped on, with 6 prongs that link to a sphere at the middle.
Surveyor-class Cruiser
Armed with light laser-based weapons along the sides and heavy shielding, it is the backbone to any Arclight fleet, though rather experimental in its tactics. They can be armed with several different main weapons.
Looks like a hotdog if it had a railgun-esque tube as its dog and if its bun had a large number of precise light laser turrets.
