The cultbeasts did a single attack run on the new cruisers, flying a half circle around the group whilst firing their weapons, being bombarded by missiles in return, slowly wittling the group down with thermonuclear fire.
Once they finished their half-circle around the group they were met by the Crymnant spikes, although they managed to hit the beasts due to being guided, the damage they dealt was minimal, like the MAC cannons and point dfeense before, the spikes had an extrenely hard time penetrating teh shell or even flesh of the beasts, which in most cases shrugged the impacts of as if they were nothing, save for a few lucky hits on those which had survived the missile fire and were finished off by lucky hits from some of the spikes...
In total, eightteen of the beasts were now remaining, having let go off the cruisers after their attack run and heading back to the patrol fleet, its shadow still offering cover against the first crymnant ship...
Although, despite all teh chaos and destruction, something still seemed to be off, it took a moment to realize, but after a few moments warning came over the displays of the patrol fleet the beasts seemed to be actually accelerating relentlessly, whilst slowly adjusting onto... collision course?!
In the meanwhile, the unmanned fighter had reached the rift, interestingly enough without being intercepted, as it dove into the rift it disappeared from the sensors and communications broke off and then... nothing.
Presumably, the warhead had detonated on the other side of the tear, where ever that may be, however, it did not seem to have any effect on the integrity of the rift or the beasts...
