ONI We are approaching the compound. As the team weaves through the jungle brush, slowly and carefully moving green-covered branches out of their way as they move. As they get closer to the compound and the clearing ahead they see guards pacing back and forth on patrol. Two contacts up ahead The team's marksman's sniper rifle fired two muffled shots at them, each hitting them in the head dropping them. The pattering of heavy rain muffled the wet sounds of the body's hitting the ground. Checking to see if it is clear, the team scans around the outer wall they are facing for more hostiles. Now to deal with what they can't see. One of the Helljumpers pulls out a small fist-sized drone from his kit, which he turns on and throws in the air. He links it to his helmet and maneuvers the drone above the compound to see a better view and the enemy's position. Live feeds from the drone's optical lens stream right to the other team member's helmets.
There was a clear path for them to take, as this side of the wall had an empty watchtower which would make a great advantage point for the marksman to sit upon.
GO GO GO sounded on TEAMCOM as the Helljumpers sprinted out of their cover in the jungle. Reaching the wall they begin to scale over it and help each other up the wall too. They land behind some large containers, making them unseen.
They spot their main target. The AA platform in the middle of the base aimed at the sky. They also see a set of large doors near the rear of the compound that is guarded. The team breaks out into action, eliminating the rebels on the AA platform and the marksman moves up to the watchtower perch, taking out the guards by the door.
The area was clear.
Before walking through the large doors they clear the rest of the compound finding some small bits of information regarding troop movements. The easiness of the mission seemed suspicious as they thought there would be more opposition and a harder fight. Maybe that had still yet to come.
Charlie Team moves through the large doors and walks down what seems to be a long ramp down. This place was probably built on an old mine shaft. The amber glow of lights illuminates the shaft ahead as the team walks down the shaft weapons raised. There must be something of importance down here despite there not being many guards at the surface. They notice vehicle tracks in the dirt as they walk suggesting some sort of utility vehicle came through.
The walk down lasted for about fifteen minutes before the tunnel branched off into a large cutout area. Floodlights shot light across it all, lighting up tanks and transport vehicles. They spotted more rebels milling about, getting ready by loading weapons and preparing the vehicles. There were at least twenty hostiles present.
