The Monolithic structure beckongs, like liquid the metal grasps the Alkari, and absorbs him inwards. The upper part of the monolith glows as the numerous thin lines on its serface begin oscillating and changing position. All contact with the one that was sent inwards is lost.
For the one inwards, the perspective is different. He awakes from what seems to be a deep slumber. He is a void of pure whiteness that extends as far as he can see and grasp, his memories flood. He remembers of his infancy. but not only his infancy, he also sees and feels the infancy of others. He is the son and daughter to a thousand mothers. Afterimages and afterimages extend from himself, fillign up the whiteness, where does "he" end and the "other" begins?
The boundary of his ego frails, the already weak ego of the hiveminded being is minimized, his self merges with the whiteness as he becomes one with everything else that he knows of, he is gone yet he is permanent, it is eternal bliss.
His mind can finally access the secrets of the large chamber beyond this one, from it, he saps knowledge, yet in his unwavering lack of form, he knows and understands too little. The little that he acquires is extremely useful however, now, as a final gift for his comrades, he will repay in kind with the knowledge they seek.
The monolith splashes down like a torrent of tempestuous water, its egregious size fills up the corridor, submerging all present. Their hivemind-like behaviour allows them to understand that a certain exclusive, special knowledge was deposited into their collective thinking, and another special notion. They feel and know what happened to their comrade, as a part of him intrinsically becomes a part of them, he shall live forever in the hivemind.
The monolith waters are gone and now the room is empty.

The Megastructure shakes and buckles, some kind of flare is seen from the reactor, there is something wrong.
They feel like their time is coming to an end, and they should leave the place soon, as it is now filled with a constant shaking, and the energetic readings only get higher and higher.
Outside and unbeknownst to them, the megastructure nighs on completing a full rotation.
