The History
It was formed by the Rusters and the Sigs. Together the Rusters and the Sigs could stand a chance against other small factions in the local area. soon the Orohorks joined in exchanging black market technology for some ships to put "boomsticks" on. Later down the road the Tunowean Pirates agreed to join after long talks. And the Kerna were interested in the exotic gadgets that the husks held.
The Cliff
Make one mistake, deviate from the rulebook, say one wrong word n' you'll fall right off. -Orohork Pack leader Crymajak Dray
The highest tier in the chain of command for the Red Legion is often referred to as "The Cliff" due to it's constant change of members. Despite it's status as "the top" a founding members word is often held higher than the command of "The Cliff". Each member of the Red Legion holds 3 seats on the cliff.
whenever a member of the cliff is kicked out (often executed) a spot opens in "The Cliff" often given to a higher ranking member of the factions government or in the case of the Tunowean Pirates the most notorious person gets the seat.
The Rusters
The Rusters scavenge the remains of ships crashed down on the desert planet of Deru IV.
The surface of Deru IV is littered with the husks of cruisers that had unplanned disassemblies. - Ruster Captain Jorik Dun
Sigma Geran Shipyards
The "Sigs" as we call them are the big gun's of the red legion they operate on large stations above the star Sigma Geran.
That is where we get all these boomsticks. - Orohork pack leader Crymajak Dray
The Sigs are the workforce behind all vessels of the Red Legion.
The Tunowean Pirates
"The Tunowean Pirates ,as their name implies, operates in the Tunow system, and joined the Red legion for free transportation to Shipping routes and other "Hotspots" in the tuno system's local area in exchange for the Red Legion's 30% share in profits". -Goran Hugo author of "The History of Scavenging"
The Tunos have no ranks. The power of someone depends on the ships they have pirated.
The Orohorks
"The Orohorks are a gang operating throughout the galaxy in "packs"as they call them and have a presence in the black market. They just supply us with weaponry and all the stupidity we would ever need." -Jogan Harkof the Kerna
The Orohorks make up most of the Infantry.
The Kerna Jarin
"The Kerna Jarin or the "R&D department" as the rest of us like to call them, keep finding new ways to blow stuff up.
bunch'a eggheads" -Orohork pack leader Crymajak Dray
The kerna are a small faction from a small system 1,184 light years away from the cosmoteer galaxy that has the brainpower to create advanced weaponry but not the resources to amass a powerful military.
but with the (reluctant) help of the Orohorks they supply each other with resources and technology.
Together the Red Legion consist's of roughly 6,000 ships of sufficient quality.
