Over the last few months, Lafiel and I, who are currently the main developers of Star Wars Mod, have been discussing which actions to take on further and/or future development, if any, on the fan-favorite, so-called classic. We have been working on some changes and new ideas, that have been a little outside of what the roadmap had in mind. As of now, there is no true roadmap for the mod. There are ideas of things I would like to implement, and those that Lafiel has ideas of. As I have stated many times, updates also aren't coming at the pace they used to, and my communication with the community has been lacking. However, I would like to highlight what to expect, and discuss a few other things.

First of all, I'm sure you are all aware of the Unofficial Port. This is fully approved by myself, and Lafiel. We are both fully aware of this release, and we are fine with anyone using it. We actually RECOMMEND you use it, just keep in mind not everything is working 100% properly.

Secondly, what you have been waiting for, what to expect. Lafiel has created a new part from scratch, the Gravity Well Generator (Also known as a Hyperspace Jammer, Well, etc.) In a joint effort, as we have wanted to, we are also working on a Death Star Superlaser 2.0- which plans on integrating newer features such as buffs, prisms, etc. These are not in final stages, or close. Other features which were initially planned to go into the update will be there as well, and some balances.

Finally, the main issue: Sprites. As you may all know, Meranera, the former lead weapon designer has left. That alone left me and some collaboration with Namek to finish weapon sprites. On top of this, Kroom, our other former artist is now working on the artwork for the actual game, which is really cool. This also means he does not have the time to create artwork for the mod (Plus he wasn't being paid). We are looking for an artist which can mimic his style or brings something unique, but suitable, to the table. We aren't thinking about any wages now, but if things improve globally and in terms of the future when development is something I may actually take up longer term again, after the launch of Cosmoteer 1.0 I may consider reforming a group where I can actually pay someone to create art. We'll cross that bridge when we get there though.

As a final note, the update IS coming. Is it coming SOON? Probably not so do not expect so. Keep using the unofficial port for now. We're going to deliver something that is new, not the same part from before in a new paint job. Also, hope everyone is safe and well in this time.
