To tell the truth, even with the reclamation of the old dominions, they were still in a precarious position. Many of the old systems had been razed, and what could be salvaged was in a sorry state, with defenses out of date, abandoned, or in disrepair. To make things worse, much of their fleet was still halfway across the galaxy, and the defenses here in Gelos Mal were thinly manned. But...
Her gaze trailed back across the map, to a ring marked in vivid gold around a gas giant in the same system as they were. The old shipyards were in the process of being refurbished currently, and they were more than adequate to build ships swiftly.
