Kristix Drone is a recent Neo-Z technology of crystal-powered drone that uses the gravity field to mount modules or smaller ship that does not have an individual controller.
The tech-tree starts from the Crystal Core Plant, which is the main economical source of the empire.
I recently made three models of the drone cores:
The first model can power lower-tech energy-based parts, such as thrusters, laser, and point defense other parts that require crew to operate.
The second one can power advanced parts that require more energy to stabilize their effectiveness, like shields, ion beam, and auto reloaders (Automation++ mod).
The third doesn't have a protective shield like the previous ones and requires a control room to unlock higher-tech parts. This one can unlock Tech3 parts and trianium composite armor.
