Captain_Warning64 they don't work well that way... 2 into 1 combinations of balanced (same damage) beams work best. See the description when you hover over the prisms (you may have to press alt).

QwerYT two ions of the same damage into one prism at max, otherwise the damage drop-off is tremendous. He has multiple beams going into one, and even multiple unbalanced beams.
