This is a complicate and long story issue but I'm going to explain it for everyone's sake.
There are two different repair systems in Abh and each with two different "job level".
They are technologically or biologically based. In each system the lower level parts provide direct repair or repair themselves while higher level parts provide area wide repair buffs to existing ones.
The technologically nanite system can support the biological system but not the other way around.
Simply put the technologically repair system in Abh has been disabled. Only the lower levels (nanite_damage_control) are fully functional because of their independence. The higher level (nanite_damage_control2) is functional but only has affect on bio parts and the construction parts. It no longer has any effect on all other parts.
The reason for disabling the repair system is based on multiple design problem with Cosmoteer's implementation and bugs.
- a design flaw with storage system and crew pathing causing a crash when crew cannot go into a part: this affects only armor
- as "terran" and "asteroid" share the same base_ship configuration despite being different ship classes this flaw has swap over to asteroid causing a crash if asteroid (ships) are generated
- Abh applies the repair system to all parts and mods loaded after it and it's not possible to exclude armor from the that procedure. The request for a discriminating feature has been requested 2 years ago...
- It's still possible to make this work if every single part is manually coded with the necessary code part. Obviously I can't do that. There's also a huge maintenance issue with that so this is not gonna happen.
