This faction made short work of their local rivals, but discovered that the rest of the Galaxy (slight exaggeration) is beyond their league.
The Cresitian Empire seemed like it came of nothing, and they almost did. Their planet Tunaria happened to be unbelievably rich in both material and life. Their rise to space was not easy, however.
Times were tough for them, while they had an advantage, eventually every other had formed an agreement while the Cresitian had secured their position and had stockpiled resources. Their defense didn't hold until they'd secretly prepared a doomstack army waiting to take the surrounding land. Their ground control was secured since then, but sea and eventually the skies, were hard to tame. Nothing prepared them for a new world of aware factions ready to ambush them at any moment. Year after year passed with failed conquest to other lands, though they had held back any invasion of their own continent, repeating until a groundbreaking discovery happened. Though everyone had experimented with air movement already in different ways, one hadn't figured out how exactly how to go further. This had been done many times by others in the realm, but didn't bother sharing to the Cresitians.
Soon enough, they had made full use of it, blasting other satellites and escalating the war. It was a miracle no one hit the Cresitians with a nuclear missile before they were. Soon enough, the Cresitians had made their way to dominating Tunaria, which still led to the problem of maintaining their territory. Constant uprisings would happen (Cresitians are spiders and spiders hunt alone), and many supply struggles were introduced when the Empire got larger.

The Cresitian, or Tunarian Spider, has a higher number of males than most other spiders, probably due to them not getting killed off so easily, by any cause. The females are larger, and fewer in number.
