Hey, I'm planning on creating a story based on Cosmoteer ships and I need an expertly created abh fleet. I have a few designs for the basic ships and the ship with the main characters on it but I wanted to reach out to the community for help in creating the rest of this fantastic fleet!
Ship designs for a Cosmoteer story.
I'll post the actual story elsewhere, this discussion will remain as a place to post ships to add to the story. The main fleet will be themed with circles/curves and slanted ends/corners.
You should also specify the technology level and the kind of tech that is allowed or a full description of the civilization's tech they are for. Otherwise the ship could have a wild mix.
Oh, thanks, Lafiel, I totally forgot to mention that. I don't want anything from Tech level 4 or above and the ship should be able to defeat itself. Oh, and no antimatter storage, I found that the explosion caused by that destroys entire fleets and renders whole sections of space uninhabitable, which I hope is just a glitch.

10Moonlite01 Guess I might offer to get those designs ingame, wouldn't be my first picture-to-ship project and I've also got some experience with ABH.
I'll add a first prototype later, but I'd appreciate some more info on which weapons (and shields / armor / thrusters) they should have. ABH has massive amounts of different everything and that picture doesn't really give much away regarding shield shape or weapon, armor and thruster type.

Fitting all parts in the center required more space than expected and I couldn't make quite round, but I hope you like it none the less.
CursedPh4nt0m I love it! I'm gonna go test it out on the Prestige, a research and exploratory vessel that defected from the Celestial Union after realizing the research they were conducting was far too dangerous to ever be used.
I left the weapons and shield type pretty vague so that the decision as to what should be used would be up to the creator. After having said that, I must acknowledge that no one should use the tech group 2 phaser arrays as I find they take down the shields too fast (or maybe I'm doing shields wrong) and to also not use the phaser lance 2 as it is the main weapon on the Prestige and I want it to be unique to that ship. I might post the Prestige itself here and see if improvements could be made as almost all of my modded ships look terrible and function like junk. (Almost none of them are painted either.) My best ship I have is a tiny fighter I call the Phaserhawk and a group of two or three of them can destroy all of my ships extremely quickly and still be left mostly intact. I also have a bomber type ship in the making which should be a little more than twice the size of the fighter you, @CursedPh4nt0m , just submitted.
10Moonlite01 I did some testing after sending the first prototype and ended up replacing the plasma cannons with phasers/lasers due to their considerable lack of firepower. Also got the main shield some extra energy after realising the mini reactors can't keep the shields powered while the thrusters do something.
I considered turning the rear shields to the front for a while, but haven't made that decision yet due to a lack of missile defense. What are your thoughts on that?
I'd say keep either the shields the same or replace the shields below the armor wings with the wider shields in tech group 1 that look like the regular shields and have them face towards the center, thus having more protection in the front and enough in the back to protect against missiles coming from the front. Or just add a top-mounted defense turret. You could also replace the laser bolt guns with the shield disruptor cannons in tech group 1.
Update: I'm completely scrapping the Prestige and making it new with more balanced weaponry. After testing it against the fighters, I realized it's too powerful for a lowly science vessel. So I'm going to rebuild it with fewer weapons and use the old version as a scrapper or other fleet ship. Also, here's the bomber, mainly with heavy, explosive shots, but make sure it's not too overpowered, or too big. it should be about 3 or 4 times the size of the fighter.

10Moonlite01 I love those designs, but how in hell am I supposed to get something thrusters like that?
Also, does this thing even have shields? Maybe I'm just blind, but...
The prologue of the story has been posted in lore/roleplay but I'm afraid I can't continue further with the story until more ships are made, I want to base the battle scenes off of real in-game battles so that the story stays as true to the Cosmoteer physics as possible. Oh and I just want to say that I wouldn't mind if someone created their own ship in a similar theme to the ones I've already drawn.
CursedPh4nt0m It does have shields, but I wanted to leave it up to the creator to choose which ones to use. I did draw which ones I wanted to use on the draft image I drew up, but I have the wrong notebook and I forgot to take a picture of it.
CursedPh4nt0m As for the trusters, you could probably use the corner fusion thrusters, the two by two ones to be more specific.
10Moonlite01 So I get to choose where to put the thrusters.
I planned on using impulse thrusters again (more thrust and I like the looks), but it's more about the angles I can hardly reproduce ingame.
I recently thought of a simple tactic in creating curves for ships. I use the shields in blueprint mode and just place blocks and armor in the shape of that shield then delete the projector afterward (or I keep it if it actually fits on the inside of the ship.)
CursedPh4nt0m If you want to leave the thrusters out, or simplify them, I can try to edit them to look the way I want afterward.
10Moonlite01 Wow, I kinda feel lazy now for simply doing them with the oval tool and placing fitting parts afterwards...
And I did have a few specifications for guns this time. I wanted the hydran hellebore thing, not the laser beam one but the cannon. and the octo-lasers on the wing corners.
