It really doesn't launch, I've tried through all the 15.4 variants thusfar and none of them start regardless of which exe I choose. There's no error message, nothing appears in task manager, and therefore there's no mydocuments folder either to aide me in diagnosing the issue.

Any insight?

Taerfi Check if antivirus blocks it.

Same problem. I can only open the 0.15.4c. Cannot open any of the older versions. Which I wanna play.

SomeRandomDudev2 Hold on I think your description might be incorrect.
I'm guessing your are using the desktop links and nothing works?

The 0.15.4 and pre-0.15.3 are different in that the exe are in different places hence the links have to be adjusted.
old is in game installation folder
new is in bin folder under installation folder

I have tried opening 15.1 both ways, from the desktop and in the folder. I have noticed that in 15.4 have the bin and 15.1 does not. Could that be the reason 15.1 won't open? And if so how do I fix it?

0.15.4 has different shortcuts than the previous versions and those shortcuts aren't compatible with each other. 0.15.4 can only be run using the shortcuts created by the installer. Previous versions can be run either via a shortcut (but not a 0.15.4 shortcut) or simply by running the Cosmoteer.exe file.

Walt My 15.1 does not open. When I double click on the exe program, the little loading icon appears for a second, then vanishing. Nothing happens, no errors no nothing. What could be the problem? I have fully uninstalled 15.1 and downloaded it multiple times. I also tried disabling my anti-virus and tried opening it with admin priviliges...

SomeRandomDudev2 Can you show me a screenshot of what you're double-clicking?

SomeRandomDudev2 That looks right. Do you have any logs in your Documents\My Games\Cosmoteer\Logs folder?

SomeRandomDudev2 Hmm, strange... Try temporarily removing or renaming your Settings.txt file.

Walt I removed it and it worked! ty for the help!

SomeRandomDudev2 No problem, glad it's working for you!

help my game keeps crashing due to mods what do I do plz help me

help_me This should actually be posted in the 'Tech Support (Mods)' section, but the fix is simple, so we might aswell do it here.
Just go to User\Documents\My Games\Cosmoteer\Mods and delete everything in that folder (or simply rename the 'Mods' folder). This will delete/disable all mods. Iif you want to figure which mod is causing the crash, you'll have to check the logs or simply try by running them one by one. On that note, checking the compatible game versions might help too.

Lafiel I am entirely certain that cosmoteer is not being blocked by my antivirus if attempts in networked safemode don't work even. None of the shortcuts or .exe files from the installer (including the bin saves) I do not/have not installed any prior versions of the game to this machine.

That's for any of the 0.15.4 versions mind. As I mentioned, the game doesn't run whatsoever and doesn't even create a mydoc folder so there's no logs for me to try and diagnose with.

It's not a crash because task manager and resource monitor show no changes when I try to run/open any of the .exe files or shortcuts.

Taerfi Have you tried the Steam version? I would also be curious if 0.15.3 works for you.

Taerfi It's not a crash because task manager and resource monitor show no changes when I try to run/open any of the .exe files or shortcuts.

It still could be a crash if it crashes so fast that it doesn't have time to show up.

Walt 15.3 runs, not sure why 15.4/b/c don't. I'll have to see about the steam version though.
