I have a lot of ships that work better with or without weapon control while in DC mode, so it would be great to not have to go to options every time I switch a ship.
Additionally, In a perfect world, when you target a part with a specific weapon or set of weapons they automatically switch off manual weapon control (configurable in options), so simply put - if a weapon has a target assigned, you can't control it manually, and to assign a target you press control or other hotkey (I think current one is ctrl). That way would also allow much easier control of multiple weapon types on a ship.
